Come and watch the workers….on 9 October the Longshed will be a hive of activity – even more than usual when the volunteer shipbuilders are hard at work.
The Longshed will be open from 10.00-16.00. Damian Goodburn – a leading expert in medieval oak and shipbuilding – is carrying out another training day, including hewing of oak and making ancient wooden tools.
In the evening their is an invitation only event in the John Gibbins gallery, as Professor Martin Carver will be “in conversation with” another leading maritime archaeologist, Dr Julian Whitewright. And we hope to have more public events like this, so keep your eyes open!
